Leona (Chille) Trainor of Wareham, formerly of Brighton, passed away at Tobey Hospital after a brief illness. Wife of the late Thomas N. Trainor Jr., she was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Sheflott) Chille. She attended Saint Patrick’s elementary and High School. Leona retired from the Boston Police Department as a Traffic Supervisor in Precinct #14 Brighton. She was also a volunteer at Tobey Hospital and late member and past Treasurer of the Wareham Emblem Club #99, Tobey Hospital Guild & C.P.I.A.. A loving mother and home maker, Leona enjoyed her family cooking, knitting, sewing, reading swimming and boating. Survivors include one son: Thomas N. Trainor & his wife Martha of Norton; two daughters: Kathie A. Trainor and her partner Karen Kohler of Brighton and Donna Trainor-Foley and her husband Bill of Attleboro. Sister of Irene Kelliher of W. Rox. Grandmother of Tom Trainor & his wife Kathy, Laura, Brian & Kevin Foley. Also survived by many loving nieces’ nephews’ relatives and friends. Sister of the late Kay Chille and Julia Rafferty. Her funeral will be held Friday, June 27, at 9:15 a.m. from the Wareham Funeral Home, 5 Center St., Wareham. That will be fFollowed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Patrick’s Church, 82 High Street, Wareham. Relatives & Friends invited. Visiting hours will be on Thursday June 26, from 4-8 p.m. only. Online guestbook warehamvillagefuneralhome.com Lawrence I. Scott, 81, of East Wareham, died June 17, 2008 in the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Aurora (Penaflor) Scott. He was born in Cambridge and lived there for several years before moving to East Wareham in 2000. Scott was a Navy Veteran serving in WWII and an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a manager of shipping and receiving at 3M in Cambridge for several years before retiring. Scott was a talented drummer. He was a member of the Boston Musicians Association. He enjoyed camping. Survivors include his widow; a son, Spencer Scott of NJ; a daughter, Brenda Suarez of Andover; two stepdaughters, Vilma Pugh and Teresa Colena of Lowell; a sister, Gloria Jenkins of NM; 13 grandchildren. Another daughter, Charlene Scott died in 2006. His grave-side service was held June 20, 2008 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Anthony R. Cardoza, 78, of E. Wareham, died Wednesday, June 18th at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham unexpectedly. He was the husband of Lillian S. (Tavares) Cardoza. Born in Bourne, he was the son of the late Manuel J., Sr. & Antonio (Monteiro) Cardoza. A graduate of Bourne High School, Mr. Cardoza served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne during the Korean conflict. Cardoza was employed as a transporter for Martin Mobile Homes in Wareham. In his youth, Mr. Cardoza was former middle-weight boxing champion at Ft. Bragg, NC and also played semi-pro football. He was fan of Boston sports and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife; his children, the late Mark J. Cardoza, Scott J. Cardoza of E. Wareham, Anthony P. Cardoza of Virginia Beach, VA, Mary Ann Cardoza of Falmouth, John C. Cockerham of Raynham, Debra J. Ladd of Rochester and Joan C. Hill and Caron M. Krier both of The Villages, FL; his siblings, Manuel J. Cardoza of Bourne, Joseph J. Cardoza of Wareham, Raymond D. Cardoza of New Bedford, John P. Cardoza of Pocasset, Charles S. Cardoza of Onset, Paul F. Cardoza of New Bedford, Ruth A. Harness of Royal Palm Beach, FL and George L. Cardoza of San Diego, CA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces and nephews. His funeral service was held on June 24 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham. Interment took place in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
