Police raid White Pines Motel; drug, gun charges filed

Christian “Spunky” Fernandes, 22, has been arrested on multiple felony drug and weapons charges following a raid at the White Pines Motel on Cranberry Highway on Friday.
Fernandes is currently being held in the Plymouth County House of Correction. His female companion, 22-year-old Kendra Dunnington is also facing felony weapons charges, according to Wareham police.
As the result of a lengthy investigation by Wareham police detectives, a search warrant was executed at the White Pines Motel, which police say has been the focus of ongoing drug dealing, disturbances, and other illegal activity for several years.
Police detectives and patrol officers entered Room 130, listed as the residence of Fernandes and Dunnington. Inside they allegedly found illegal drugs and materials commonly used for packaging drugs. Police also located a silver revolver with the serial numbers defaced, a switchblade knife, and a large amount of cash.
Fernandes was charged with Possession with intent to distribute cocaine - subsequent offense; possession with intent to distribute marijuana; possession of a firearm without a license; possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number; possession of a dangerous weapon, and improper storage of a firearm.
Dunnington was charged with possession of a firearm without a license; possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number; and improper storage of a firearm. She is currently being held on bail at the Wareham Police Department holding facility. Both parties are scheduled to appear at Wareham District Court on Monday morning.
Wareham Police Chief Richard Stanley commended his officers for getting another gun off the street and putting another alleged Wareham drug dealer out of business. He further stated that local motel owners who continue to condone this type of illegal activity will face local licensing authorities and possible criminal charges.
