This three hour gala event has hors d’oeuvres, clams and oysters and a full open bar to add to the ambience of the evening. The Show continues on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The cost is $8.
For further information, call Kim at (508) 748-1116 from 10 – 2, Tuesday through Friday.
The public is invited to join the Green Ways Committee and BSA Troop 31 to dedicate Rochester’s Liberty Elm on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of The Joseph Plumb Library. This date is National Liberty Tree Day and other observances will be held in locations across the country. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
The second Waterman School reunion will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at the Rochester Memorial School.
This is open to anyone who attended the Waterman School before it was replaced by Rochester Consolidated School in 1954. Years later it became the Memorial School. Reservations are required, and should be received by Sept. 1. Tickets are $20 per person. Checks are to be made out to: Rochester Historical Society and sent to their address at: PO Box 171, Rochester, MA 02770.
There will be a social hour from 11 a.m. to noon, when lunch will be served. The program will begin at 1 p.m. Participants are asked to bring or mail any interesting or relative information. For more information call: (508) 763-2724 or (508) 763-5397.
On Saturday, Aug. 16, Yolanda Lodi will be at The Bookstall in Marion not only signing copies of her latest book, Yolanda’s All New Cranberry Cookbook, but also willing to share her experiences writing and collecting recipes. With more than fifty recipes using fresh, frozen, or sweetened dried cranberries, all are nutritious, simple, and easy to make. Besides recipes and stories, this new cookbook (her fourth) features an introduction in which she offers encouragement for those who love to cook and want to be creative in developing their own recipes. "Experiment and take the plunge. Try something new that sounds good."
So, take a few minutes on Saturday, Aug. 16, between 10 am and noon, and stop by The Bookstall, located at 151 Front Street, Marion MA (508-748-1041), to talk about cranberries and cookbooks with Yolanda, who strongly feels that preserving recipes keeps traditions alive for future generations to cherish.

Cheers.
